Experience reports of our Nordakademie students

Seyma Erdinc (born in 1990), dual degree student of Business Administration since 2009.

1. Why did you decide to to pursue a dual Bachelor’s degree at our company? What did you find particularly appealing?
After finding out details about the dual Bachelor’s degree at the Nordakademie at the Open Day and having several interviews with individual companies, I decided to join Marquard & Bahls. My mind was made up by the close links between theory and practice as well as their integration in the company's specific processes. We do have to be very committed and disciplined, however, as we have to complete both education and training at the same time.

2. How would you describe our company and our culture? Is there anything in particular that you notice?
I found the selection process at Marquard & Bahls to be very pleasant and personal. We were given a great deal of attention and interest. The training is very demanding and varied. During the practical assignments, you can get experience in the different business divisions. This quickly teaches you to carry out tasks and solve problems in a responsible and independent manner. Your colleagues are always there to answer your questions and are all very friendly and helpful.

3. What do you like most about your work or your traineeship at our company? Is there anything in particular that you notice?
So far, I have carried out my practical assignments at OIL! Tankstellen, Mabagas and Mabanaft Austria in Vienna, among others. Even though these three subsidiaries operate in different business divisions, I can successfully use the knowledge I gained there in future assignments and can expand on that knowledge. I find that really motivating, because I can put what I have learned into practice and gather valuable experience in my professional life.

I would like to thank Marquard & Bahls for the opportunities that the dual Bachelor’s degree offers, and look forward to our continued good and successful working relationship.
